CLINICAL MANAGERS
Lulu Shapiro and Megan Paul launched Lotus Palliative Care in April 2021.
LULU SHAPIRO
Clinical Manager | Registered NurseLulu’s professional journey started in the UK, where she qualified as a Nurse in 1992 and gained experience working in oncology and haematology. Following this, she moved into an organisational management role with an international company and relocated to Australia to establish a new division. Her next progression was a successful joint venture in international nurse recruitment, a position that utilised her management, human resources and clinical knowledge.
Following her heart, she returned to client-centred care as a chronic disease management nurse, gaining a broader understanding of Medicare, allied health and general practice operation and systems. This experience also enabled her to forge relationships within the local health sector. Since Lulu’s return to client-centred care in 2014, she has worked as a care coordinator and a specialist palliative care nurse providing palliative care in the home.
MEGAN PAUL
Clinical Manager | Registered NurseMegan realised her dream of becoming a registered nurse in 2010. Initially, she specialised in emergency and oncology nursing before pursuing her vocation in palliative care. Prior to nursing, Megan had an eighteen-year career in the corporate sector. During this time, she developed invaluable skills that she has integrated into her nursing practice and Lotus Palliative Care.
As a passionate and committed nurse, Megan understands that she cannot change a person’s diagnosis, but she can make a difference to their day. Working with people to ensure they spend quality time at home with family and friends is a key motivator for Megan’s passion as a palliative care nurse.
